After deleting a lot of emails and the folders in which these emails were stored, after deleting one folder, I got a message on the lower right of my screen saying that the operation failed. That message came and went for what seemed like 2-300 times. I don't remember the text of the message.

Now I can no longer connect to the mail server. When I enter my password, the message at the lower right says

"jerrytex@swbell IMAP: Sending login information ..."

After a few minutes, a popup up window appears which says:

"Login failed ? Login to servier imap.mail.yahoo.com failed Retry Enter New Password Cancel (<-- these are buttons)"

Sometimes multiple copies of the above pop up window appear.

I then enter Retry - after several minutes, the same window appears. When I kill Thunderbird, that same window appears one more time.

I can access my mail on the web (mail.yahoo.com) just fine.

I have tried re-booting - it still doesn't work. I am running Windows 7 on a Lenovo laptop.

Any suggestions?

Yahoo seem to be having issues right now. I can't tell if it's specific to Thunderbird users.

Yahoo seems to have resolved this problem. I was able to access my email via Thunderbird / IMAP as of yesterday 7/20/2017
