Are duplicate tabs supposed to have the history of the original? Mine did before 56.0

I seem to recall an add-on I used for this a long time ago. I used that all the time. Can't make it work even with this duplicate tab add-on which I just installed tonight trying to get that functionality back. It duplicates the tab just fine but the back button is empty.

hi, the upcoming firefox 57 will include this feature out of the box (including the history of the duplicated tab).

Does this mean that it currently isn't supposed to?

Firefox 29-56 definitely never had a built-in "Duplicate Tab" function. To duplicate a tab, your two options have been:

(A) hold down Ctrl and drag the tab to another spot on the tab bar (B) Ctrl+click the reload button

If you don't care about tab history:

(C) click in the address bar and press Alt+Enter to launch the address in a new tab

You can middle-click the Reload button on the Navigation Toolbar to duplicate the current tab. You can also drag a tab with the Ctrl key pressed to a new position to duplicate this tab.
