I think this might have arrived when I was upgraded to FF56. (Win10)

PgUp PgDn arrows Tab in page navigation all stopped working, as in fact has Alt-F for File menu, AltE for edit and so on

They do work inside this text box. Alt-leftarrow gets me to previous page F6 does NOT get me to the address bar, but Alt-D does

As you can probably tell I prefer keyboard navigation to mouse/trackpad.

Any idea what's going on?

Chosen solution

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Sorry sorry, brain failure on my part. It was HighlightAll extension; weird I can't see why it should intercept keystrokes at all, but anyway and thanks

(I'm worried by all my addons being marked LEGACY)

Legacy just means that in a future version, those add-ons will not work in Firefox. They will need to be rewritten or replaced.
