After following these instructions:

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/restore-bookmarks-from-backup-or-move-them

I lost all my bookmarks on the bookmark toolbar during a restore. When I try to restore/important previous jstore files, I get "Unable to process the backup file." I recently updated to Version 56.0.1 (64-bit). I also noticed the previous link asks for you to restore jstore files but they are now JSONLZ4 files.

If "Verify Integrity" on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page or Places Maintenance can't repair the places.sqlite database then remove all places.sqlite file(s) in the Firefox profile folder to make Firefox rebuild the places.sqlite database from the most recent JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.
