Firefox has a built-in home page. It should appear automatically if you leave the home page address blank on the Options/Preferences page. If Firefox is ignoring that setting, can you check whether the problem is only at startup (when you use a desktop shortcut to start Firefox) or also when you click the Home button or launch a new window (Ctrl+n)?
