After an update in Mac os sierra firefox crashes every time I search for something. It says something like 'oh dear, looks like your tab just crashed. We can help! Choose 'restore tab' to reload the page. But choosing 'restore tab' or 'restore all crashed tabs' does not work. What can I do? Thanks. E-mail had problems too, by the way since the update.

We're sorry to hear that Firefox is crashing. In order to assist you better, please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
  2. Copy the 5 most recent Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.

Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.

(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)

Hi

Thank you for that information, really appreciate it.

I have been advised that this is a known issue that is due to be fixed in an update to Firefox Quantum which is due to be rolled out on 23rd January.

If you cannot wait until then, you may want to try the Beta release of Firefox which you can download from here. If you wish to move across to Beta, this article will help you move across your bookmark, passwords and other information.

I hope that this helps.
