FF58 says beta version

Just updated to FF58 this AM. In the description it says FF58.0 beta. Why? I didn't knowingly download a beta version. O don't want a Beta version. Please review and advise why it says it's a Beta version.

I never have used a beta version, however, as of yesterday afternoon, when I checked "whats new" the beta was gone and the date was Jan. 23. So the problem has seemingly resolved itself.

Hmm maybe the Release notes page for Firefox 58.0 Release was not quite live yet and you were served https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/58.0beta/releasenotes/ instead of https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/58.0/releasenotes/

By download do you mean by internal update in Firefox or a download from www.mozilla.org or www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ or a software download site?

It it was from a software download site then either they are falsely listing a Firefox 58.0 Beta build as a Release or you missed that fact that it was a Beta build.

If done as a internal update then perhaps you were using a Beta build of Firefox 57.0 and not the 57.0.4 Release. Though in this circumstance you would have likely been updated to one of the Beta builds of Firefox 58.0 a while ago.

Thanks for everyone's answers. I downloaded from FF's web site via the internal update feature as always. When I checked "whats new" it said Beta with a date in Nov. That's what was confusing me. I never have used a beta version, however, as of yesterday afternoon, when I checked "whats new" the beta was gone and the date was Jan. 23. So the problem has seemingly resolved itself. Thanks for everyone's comments.

https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/58.0/releasenotes/ is working for me now.

It wasn't when Firefox was updated for me about 12 hours ago; then it showed that 58 Beta "See what’s new in Firefox!" page of 58.0beta Release Notes.
