When we downloaded the newest version of firefox, it no longer shows the star so that i can bookmark, where did it go?
The star icon and the other bookmark icon right beside it disappeared when we upgraded to the newest version of firefox. I can still see bookmarks that i already have using the button that says show sidebars, but i cannot make a new bookmark because i can't find the star icon. Thanks

Hi cjrtrott, your Firefox identified itself as Firefox 52. Is that the Extended Support Release?
If you cannot find the missing button in the collection of available icons in Customize, you can use the "Restore Defaults" button at the bottom of that pane to return the default controls to the toolbar.

Hi there, the Bookmark star is now in the URL bar, if you cannot find it there, click on the Page Action Menu (3 dots in the URL bar), Right click on 'Bookmark This Page' and select "Add to Address Bar" the Bookmark Star will now be there for you to bookmark pages again.
Additionally:
If you can't find all of your bookmarks and bookmark folders in Firefox Quantum (version 57), try this solution:
- Click on the Library icon on your Firefox toolbar.
- Click on Bookmarks, then click on Bookmarking Tools.
- Click on Add Bookmarks Menu to Toolbar.
- A Bookmarks Menu icon will be added to your toolbar.
- Click on the new Bookmarks Menu icon. You should get the same Bookmarks Menu as in earlier Firefox versions.
Let us know if this solves the problem.
- For other ways to customize Firefox, see Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars.
- To learn more about Firefox bookmarks, see Bookmarks in Firefox.
There is nothing in my url bar except a "enter reader view" icon. There is no star and there is no 3 dots, there is no library icon

Hi cjrtrott,
In the header of your question you say : "we downloaded the newest version of firefox "
and then you say : "we upgraded to the newest version of firefox "
This suggests that you posted this with another device, or were referring to this problem occurring on another device .....
Hence Mkll's post .......
