How do i get natural voice in text-to-voice
I have Firefox Quantum on Linux Mint. When I select text to be read to me (I have aphasia after a stroke), the voice has an android/automated tone to it. How can I change this to a more natural sounding voice as I have seen on line?
Thanks,
David Kane

Hi !
Maybe you'd like to give this extension a try :

The reviews sound promising ......
That extension is not compatible with Firefox Quantum... Thanks for the thought though.

What makes you think 'Chirpy' isn't compatible with the current Firefox version ?
'Text to Voice' is no longer compatible - that's when they came up with 'Chirpy' .....
See what it says here : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/text-to-voice/
See attached photo..
My preference is to accomplish this native to Firefox without an add-on.
Thanks,
David

I don't know if there is a way to make the built-in 'Read to me' feature sound more natural, but maybe somebody else does ....
You can still try an extension to see how it works.
Native text to speech ( tts ) https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/native-text-to-speech-tts/
