I have been using firefox a long time. Up until recently when opening a window the cursor defaulted to the address bar. And tabbing brought it to the search bar. It now defaults t either the bookmark search or the history search. This is annoying. I rarely want to search either but often want to paste an address or search the web. I would like it changed back. opinions?

Hi Sorry, no idea. You are also running a unsupported browser with security risks.

Hi billsib, this was a bug with the sidebar search box in Firefox 56. It tended to grab the cursor/focus when a page was loaded.

As a workaround, you can browse with the sidebar closed except when you need it. It's fairly quick to open/close using the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+b and Ctrl+h.

Or of course you could upgrade to Firefox 59.
