Why is Thunderbird saving two copies of every email in Sent folder?

more options

Using Thunderbird with Windows 7. (Just switched to Thunderbird from Outlook, if that matters.) Two copies of every email I initiate end up in the Sent folder, but only one copy of those I reply to. Any suggestions on how to change this so only one copy is saved? It's not causing any problems other than taking up double the space needed in the Sent folder.

Chosen solution

It's not. Thunderbird saves one copy and some providers save a copy. It sounds like your provider is one of them. Go into account settings, Copies and Folders and tell Thunderbird to stop saving a copy of sent messages.
