When I attempt to set up a new email account with TPG, Thunderbird takes me through the process however it states at the end that the username or password is incorrect. Both the username and the password ARE correct as both of these are accepted with TPG when I log in to TPG to check mail. I have tried the auto and the manual setup without success. I have spoken with TPG and they have checked the configuration and it is correct for logging into TPG. Looks like a Thunderbird problem. Can you assist?

Thanks

Larry Blomberg

What do you have for the settings? As far as I can tell, you should have:

incoming server: mail.tpg.com.au port: 110 (POP) or 143 (IMAP) Connection security: None Authentication: password, transmitted insecurely User name: part of your address before the @

outgoing SMTP server: mail.tpg.com.au port: 25 Connection security: None Authentication: password, transmitted insecurely User name: part of your address before the @
