Firefox keeps crashing and won't open at all,
all i get is the crash report window.
The latest crash says this: Crash ID: bp-d3831017-09eb-4b46-9655-4c8f01180509 Crash ID: bp-8edbc948-a84e-42ae-8f05-81b231180509 Crash ID: bp-e23e9a07-d7ef-4de8-b31e-bba571180509 Crash ID: bp-5287df73-1241-4091-b3df-ec7c81180509
etc..
Chosen solution
hi, unfortunately comodo was malfunctioning recently and mistakenly quarantining parts of a couple of genuine programs which caused these firefox startup crashes as well. apparently they have released an update till now that has rectified the issue, so please make sure that comodo and all of its signatures/components are up to date: https://forums.comodo.com/av-false-positivenegative-detection-reporting/comodo-is-reporting-everything-as-a-malware-since-this-night-t121994.0.html
afterwards reinstall firefox with the installer from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/
in case this doesn't help either i'd recommend to ditch this unreliable security software...

I need my bookmarks not to be affected, will a reinstall wipe everything?
your bookmarks won't be affected by a reinstall and stay in place for when you're able to launch firefox again ;-)
Also I don't think it's commodo, auto-containment has been disabled on my firewall for over a year as I found no use for something that decides to contain files on its own without my consent first.
Do the crash reports I linked not point to JAVA? JS in the Signature?
Ahh if i wont lose bookmarks then I will just re-install and see if that fixes the issues regardless of what it might be =)
thank you, hopefully reinstall works.
Ahah, it was commodo, there was 1 entry to block firefox for some reason, and some entries to block skyrim, and another game. Though I have over 50 games installed from steam. So somehow commodo managed to block 2-3 things despite autocontainment being disabled. All I have set on commodo is the firewall itself and virusscope.
