Sorry, I misread your post!

Firefox for Android might be able to install extensions from other sites, but you will need to give sites permission to do so. I can't think of an example I've seen myself. Is there one you are trying to install?

I am trying to publish an unlisted extension. Can you think of an example of unlisted extensions for Desktop Firefox? Thanks )

There are many extensions for desktop that users get from a source other than the Add-ons site. For example:

  • Adobe Acrobat Create PDF extension, which is installed as part of Adobe Acrobat DC

How would my users install that extension? Will they have to go to "about:addons" and "Install Add-on From File"? Can they click a button on my website ( something like inline installation, or how users install extensions from AMO ) ? Thank you for the answers )

Please see my earlier links for how to distribute extensions from your own website.
