On a printer that previously worked as regards "print preview" this feature now fails. "Print previewing message" now appears lower left and remains. This failure also occurs on a new printer just installed. I have the latest version of Thunderbird installed.

"file", "print preview" fails with the message "print previewing message" hung in lower left of display.

Please check to see if your 'print spooler' needs 'starting' if not running or 'restarting' if running.

  • Start > Run
  • Type: services.msc
  • click on Ok
  • new window opens
  • under 'Services Local'
  • scroll down until you locate 'Print Spooler'
  • select 'Print Spooler'
  • click on 'Start' or 'Restart' the service.

then check to see if the 'File' > 'Print Preview' works.

If this resolves the issue then it is not a Thunderbird problem. Please report back on results.

You can clear the error console by clicking on the far left icon which looks like a dustbin. Please check the error console and also post the entry which is just above: 12:41:44.874 NS_ERROR_NOT_AVAILABLE: Cannot call openModalWindow on a hidden window 1 nsPrompter.js:351 Or clear everything and retest. then you will be able to see everything that needs posting. cheers.
