Firefox Crashing Constantly

more options
Have not had this particular problem before. Running Windows 7. Today, constant crashing. Maybe it is because it is Friday the 13th or my birthday, but this is a real pain. I am attaching crash reports. Thanks. Happy Birthday!!

Sorry to hear about the crashes and thank you for the report links. They all seem to involve one of the JavaScript compilers crashing trying to do the same thing. Do you think possibly it's the same page crashing it every time? If so, any idea which page?

(I think there's an issue with the crash-stats server at the moment. Although it shows your five reports, it doesn't show those or any others when I click the "More Reports" link, so it's difficult to compare and look for patterns with other users.)

More generally:

(1) Have you tried turning it off and on again (i.e., shutting down and restarting Windows)?

(2) Can you try one cycle in Firefox's Safe Mode? In its Safe Mode, Firefox temporarily deactivates the JavaScript compilers, all extensions, hardware acceleration, and some other advanced features to help you assess whether these are causing the problem.

If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox. (On Mac, hold down the option/alt key instead of the Shift key.)

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" Help button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • (menu bar) Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

and OK the restart.

Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

Any improvement?
