Troubleshoot: Setting up new email account successful but no folders except Inbox load and program hangs
I have set up several accounts in Thunderbird and am not experiencing any problems with any of them at this time.
I just set up two new (existing in email provider, Hawk Host) email accounts in Thunderbird which accepted the settings and added the two new accounts to my list of accounts. The 'Inbox' folder appearded but no other folders as they usually do. A rotating blue circle, indicating it is hanging, just continues and nothing else happens.
I then tried to send an email from a different account to the problem account which showed it was successfully sent but the email did not show as received in Thunderbird. It did show in the online webmail platform.
I then tried to send an email from the problem account to a different recipient account. Thunderbird showed that it was sent successfully but could not save it in the 'Sent' or 'Drafts' folder as they are not populated for the problem accounts.
The email did appear in the Thunderbird account for that recipient account.
I am completely baffled. Please help!!
Thank you.

What are your settings? They appear to only offer (insecure) POP accounts, which explains why you only see the Inbox in TB. Sent and Drafts folders should appear the first time you send a message or save a draft. If the settings are correct but it still hangs or times out, the usual cause is an antivirus program scanning email folders and connections (disable it if it's on).
Thanks for your reply sfhowes.
As with many other hosting companies, HawkHost uses third party webmail application via the cPanel which provides both POP and IMAP, both secure and insecure. All of my accounts are set up for IMAP/secure.
These two new are set up the same as my others, IMAP/secure.
Also, it can't be the anti-virus because the other accounts are working just fine without any issues, sending, receiving and saving in appropriate folders, all of which show in the accounts list.
