Is it possible for Firefox to sync bookmark "Favicons" across devices, rather than showing the grey globe prior to first use??

I have used "other browsers" where a site's Favicon seems to be synchronized across devices, or at least the browser will poll the site when a new bookmark is sync'd to pull the Favicon. I'm a new FF user, and have a sea of grey globes throughout my bookmarks toolbar and menu. It does correctly post the Favicon after first use but, as I use four or five devices regularly, I have pretty inconsistent iconography in my various browser windows. Is there a way for FF to sync these, or poll for the Favicon after a bookmark is added? There seem to have been extensions for this in the past, but none seem to be current.

I'm using the latest version (67.0.2) on Windows 10.

Thanks in advance.

Chosen solution

Not really. You need to use a bookmark to make Firefox retrieve the favicon from the website.

  • Bug 428378 - Synced tabs, bookmarks, and history entries don't have a favicon until the user re-visits that page again
