Emails received from Tbird contacts are just a huge heap of computer code. If and image is attached the there are pages and pages of unreadable code. It never happens with junk emails but only from one important contact. Can I doosomething at my end or should I request them to stop using Tbird?

That is funny really.... you problem just about describes most folks experience with mail from outlook. But that is not going to help you.

What versions of outlook are you using? As you also using exchange server? My guess is the mail is displaying in plain text. Something very old versions of outlook did because they simply did not understand HTML mail.

This appears to be how to set outlook to not display text. https://www.technipages.com/outlook-change-view-html-plain-text
