How do I receive new email from 2 different addresses at the same time, but keep different inboxes for them?

I originally set up TBird to download my mail from my 1 email address & to delete that mail from the host server as it moved it into TBird.

I recently had to set up a 2nd email address with Google.

I now need to have TBird download that Gmail, as well as the 1st email address. However, I do not want both addresses mixed in the same inbox, & I do NOT want TBird to delete the Gmail from the Google server as it downloads.

I'm low tech, so I'd appreciate some help with step by step instructions.

just add it to Thunderbird as IMAP, then Thunderbird will synchronize with the server instead of delete stuff.
