HTML 5 Audio Not Working Properly on Firefox
Certain sites like clyp, soundcloud, bandcamp, etc don't work on firefox yet, they work when I try them on Chrome. This issue of audio not playing correctly is becoming an increasingly annoying issue for me as I have started school where listening to mp3 files on blackboard is part of the curriculum. None of them work on firefox and, I've had to email professors to reissue quizzes to me.

I assume it's mostly a problem with MP3. If you try the following test page, what happens with formats like .webm and .ogg -- do any of them play?

Is the problem limited to audio or is video also a problem? I have a test page here:
Hello,
For the first link, all of the tests work except for the very last one.
As for the second link, the results from top to bottom are:
supported probably probably supported supported supported
It's hard to narrow it down to which pages aren't working for me at the moment because I've had more than a few incidents that I simply ignored and tried in chrome instead. But right now here are some examples that don't work:
https://clyp.it/txkgxod1 https://0101.bandcamp.com/track/twinklestar
Right now its biggest disruption is in my online music classes for college. Using the blackboard site that most post-secondary institutions use, some of my quizzes involve listening to audio clips that the professors have uploaded. None of them have worked in mozilla. The clip might be similar to something like this (however this example is working in firefox):
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dominant_seventh_chord
All of the examples above have worked in chrome.
On Bandcamp, the audio files are hosted on a different server: https://t4.bcbits.com/
Is there anything in your configuration or add-ons that could create issues with cross-site requests, whether that's enhanced privacy, blocked third party cookies, modified headers or user agent, etc.?
To rule out a system issue, you could try:
New Profile Test
This takes about 3 minutes, plus the time to test some problem site(s).
Inside Firefox, type or paste about:profiles in the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it.
Take a quick glance at the page and make a mental note of which Profile has this notation: This is the profile in use and it cannot be deleted. That is your current default profile.
Click the "Create a New Profile" button, then click Next. Assign a name like Sept2020, ignore the option to relocate the profile folder, and click the Finish button.
Firefox will switch your default profile to the new one, so click the Set as Default Profile button for your regular one to avoid an unwanted surprise at your next startup.
Scroll down to Sept2020 and click its Launch profile in new browser button.
Firefox should open a new window that looks like a brand new, uncustomized installation. (Your existing Firefox window(s) should not be affected.) Please ignore any tabs enticing you to connect to a Sync account or to activate extensions found on your system so we can get a clean test.
Do the audio tracks work any better in the new profile?
When you are done with the experiment, you can close the extra window without affecting your regular Firefox profile. (Sept2020 will remain available for future testing.)
