Incoming & forwarded messages contain (font?) problems which I have been unable to correct. Here is an example: "It turns out, there’s a “secret stock market” only a small group of traders even know exists…"

This problem began with the update from Version 68.12.1 to 78.4.3. I am running on Windows7. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I have seen the “ frequently and just put up with it. It seems to mean ' (apostrophe)

There MUST be some way to correct this problem. It almost destroys the readability of both messages received as well as forwarded. PLEASE does anyone have any suggestions worth trying? Thanks.

It looks like a text/character encoding problem. Is it just for specific senders or all emails? If you right click on the mail folder affected, and select properties - what do you have set for the 'Fallback text encoding'?

Fallback text encoding is set as "Western (ISO-8859-1).

These anomalies appear in a variety of messages, both (some) commercial & private. They appear in both incoming & my outgoing messages.

Following your suggestions, while in Inbox "properties' I ran a "repair Folder" which seems to have got rid of some (have to test further with incoming). But one which is still there is the Space Bar which always displays "Â".

I believe you suggestion is leading me in the right direction. Many thanks for your response, and I will await any further thoughts you might have.

Your help is much appreciated.
