Running T-bird 91.3.1 (latest). Few days ago, when I open Tbird, it goes to get mail but never succeeds, says connecting to pop.verizon.net at bottom. When I look at the table of Saved Logins" (on Privacy page) it only shows one entry: pop.verizon.net with my userid.

On my wife's PC, where Tbird works perfectly, there are 2 entries in the provider column: pop.verizon.net smtp.aol.com

My question is this- how do I create a saved password entry for smtp.aol.com? I believe that's my problem

Tools/Account Settings, Outgoing Server (SMTP) at the bottom of the left pane. Is there an entry with smtp.aol.com or smtp.verizon.net? Select the account in the left pane: what is the Outgoing Server (SMTP) in the right pane?

by the way, I did what the instructions stated (your link) and now my Saved Logins page is empty. When I reload TB and it goes to get mail, that box is still empty

After Saved Passwords is emptied, and TB restarts, you will be prompted to enter the account password in the OAuth window, and a token will be stored in Saved Passwords (cookies must be accepted for OAuth authentication).
