Why does my Ring app not work with Firefox anymore?

more options

My account on Ring.com no longer displays my camera devices using firefox. I get this message: Sorry I can not paste the error.

Live view is not currently supported for firefox? It has always worked until some recent update. What has changed?

Chosen solution

Hi Fredrick, In my search, this seems to be a decision made by the Ring team. Their support page lists supported browsers at https://support.ring.com/hc/articles/208144516-Using-Live-View

Perhaps they're still testing it on Firefox. Try asking in their support forum at https://community.ring.com/

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/update-firefox-latest-version?cache=no Did you update Firefox to the latest version?

Version 95.0, first offered to Release channel users on December 7, 2021 Version 95.0.1, first offered to Release channel users on December 16, 2021 Version 95.0.2, first offered to Release channel users on December 19, 2021

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1359657#answer-1463359 and updated to 95.0. . . . I finally found where the plugin "Widevine Content Decryption Module provided by Google Inc." was not updating to the newest version of December 1, 2021. Ver #4.10.2391.0

cor-el; Make sure you have the latest Widevine version. You can toggle DRM off/on to see if that makes Firefox (re)load DRM components.

You can possibly check the XHR requests in the Browser Console if this doesn't work.

Thanks for the info. I called ring and they are looking into the issue. I was told they have not stopped supporting Firefox, but they needed to research and get back to me today. Your reply is interesting? It says right there Firefox is not supported with their latest update. I wonder why???

Thanks again. I love Firefox! My only complaint is in gmail. But that might be google and not Mozilla...
