Firefox 99.0 (64-bit).

Used to, a yellow "dot" would appear over the "Downloads" button in the toolbar if one or more of my downloads failed.

I could then open the "Downloads" and restart/resume the ones that failed to complete.

Is there a setting to bring that back?

Note: I set the "browser.download.alwaysOpenPanel" to false to prevent that window from opening everytime I started a download. Not sure if the two are related.

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web Link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for a download manager.


This download manager works separately from the browser. The browser tells it what to download, and off it goes.
