I got a new laptop and transferred Thunderbird from old to new computer. Now the font for messages in my inbox is very small. How do I increase the font for the text of messages in my inbox. Was much larger on old PC. I have been able to increase font on messages I send, but can't find anyplace to increase inbox.

Chosen solution

Hello Idkalmbach,

If you are talking about the font size of the message contents in your inbox, to change it, click the menu button on the top right corner of your Thunderbird window, then click "Preferences". From there, scroll down to Language & Appearance and you can adjust the font size to your desired value.

If you are talking about the font size of the message titles themselves in your inbox, go to "Preferences" again, type "Config Editor" into its search bar, click the Config Editor button, and type "layout.css.devPixelsPerPx". From there, change the value of the "layout.css.devPixelsPerPx" preference to your desired value (I recommend 1.5) by clicking the pencil icon, typing in the value, and clicking the tick button.

Hopefully this helps and if it does, kindly mark this answer as the solution (solved)!

Changing font size under language and appearance seems to have no effect on my emails.

Then I recommend trying the second solution I provided, it should most likely work! If it did not, please report back!
