Reinstall Firefox without Importing Previous Bookmarks
I cannot find this anywhere. As a Topic . I've Reinstalled Firefox several times, and, each time the Browser continues to Import the previous instalations Bookmarks.
Noticed that a small Dialog box pops up stating what is being installed, with 'Importing Previous Bookmarks". Should be an Option on Instalation that handles exactly what is to be described as installed. Supposed there used to be. Since im used to installing w/o 'default settings.
The little check box that denotes 'use old settings, and apps, does nothing.
Have another problem with my Bookmarks. And this is what I need solved Reinstalling Firefox without Importing Previous Bookmarks.
Options for Migrations is not a punn here.

Right, when leaping over a gorge, don't let go of the current rope until you have the new rope firmly in hand.

I notice THAT PERSON wound up reinstalling their Op.Sys. software.
Looks like either I have two instations of Firefox,or I have a big, fat,PROFILE.
I being cool ya know. I have some really important reference material in the links.
There are too many at present.
Hi Mike, try creating a new profile. If it works the way you need, then you can delete your old profile. This is a three-minute project.
New Profile Test
Inside Firefox, type or paste about:profiles in the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it.
Take a quick glance at the page and make a mental note of which Profile has this notation: This is the profile in use and it cannot be deleted. That is your current default profile.
Click the "Create a New Profile" button, then click Next. Assign a name like Sept22, ignore the option to relocate the profile folder, and click the Finish button. Firefox will make this your new default profile.
Scroll down to Sept22 and click its Launch profile in new browser button.
Firefox should open a new window that looks like a brand new, uncustomized installation. (Your existing Firefox window(s) should not be affected.) Please ignore any tabs enticing you to connect to a Sync account if you do not want to bring over data from your Firefox Account.
Is this good for you or do you need any other data from your old installation?
(You can close the window for your other profile whenever you like.)
Your really groovy to be awake at this hour.
I've : 1.Deleted 5 Profiles in the location noted. 2. Attempted to Instal Firefox once with: "Profile Missing" - instalation process halted. Im going to 3. "Restore " those files from the Windows Recycle Bin. 4. Look at your instructions and do so. Reply back here.

Got to have some super relevant patience for this stuff.
On: 5. At the 'About:Profile - that was named. 6. I punched "Launch Browser",but the previous Browser came up within Bookmarks and all,and I closed it. At this point Im wondering if I have two Browsers installed since I was (insert italized here),using Edge to utilize the Downloads on my Windows10 machine here. The previous instalation must have found itself a Profile. I closed THAT Browser. 7. I accessed the "All Apps" in Win10,and used that from which I chose Firefox.
This came up with the 'Add-Ins, Installed. (I also looked at Settings where I did not see it asking for monitoring Mozilla Technical data. ).
[ x ] Present Browser is W/o BookMarks. I can of course Import those I saved from the previous Export. Work with them in a HTM file.
There should be a simple Option to the Instalations. For exactly Bookmarks. I dont understand all of this but dont believe that DNS,IP,and Geolocation should be mixed, and matched. Realistically,Sync can't be accomadated when the user has descrepencies. For example your email tells an IP address, but why would I allow these to be farmed when I know their working adaqucies, are not courteous to assumptions for x device. Theres more but..,not here.
I like anybody on the web,any Browser. But not in the frequent of the middle. Charmed network.

I've got 7 folders besides the new named folder in Profiles (using the %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\). Will they effect anything if I keep them. ? They all begin with a .default to their names . Im guessing the Folder I renamed is that which is in use. And there might be a possibility of using them later .
Thanks a bunch.

You could mine those old profile folders for data related to past history. If you don't notice anything missing in the next few weeks, then it probably would be safe to delete them. Rather than do this through Finder, I suggest removing them through the about:profiles page.
Note that Firefox also uses a profile folder for temporary files in a secondary location in "AppData\Local" and is not a good idea to rename a profile folder on the hard drive (it is OK to do this in the profile manager).
Location used for the disk cache and other temporary files (Local Directory on about:profiles).
- C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>
Roger that.
