Not sure if this is the best place to ask, but when I try to take a document from one place and try to insert it into another document, hitting Crtl-A, Ctrl-C or -X to cut it from Doc 1 then hitting Ctrl-V and pasting it into Doc 2 wipes out the margin setting arrows so I can't change the margins to match Doc 2. And my attempts to get around that screw up the formatting of the document. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Are Doc 1 and Doc 2 on the same website, for example, both in Google Docs or both in Office Online? Usually if you are copy/pasting within one site, everything should be compatible. But I'm sure there are exceptions...

Thank you for your prompt answer. I'm sorry I wasn't clear beyond saying that I didn't know if I was in the right forum, but these are documents on my desktop created with Open Office Writer. Can you tell me where to go to get that info, please?
