10 days ago firefox downloaded a new version. I thought I was selecting an update, but I got a Second version of Firefox. After backing up bookmarks, I deleted all of them and put another "new" version 64 bit. The website/search bar used to be on the menu Bar which I keep open all the time. These were at the top of the window. I also had a search bar at top, all the way to the right as facing it. NOW I can't seem to get the website input off the Bookmark toolbar and up to the top. I was able to get the separate search input box? What am I overlooking and I am think there is something easy I am missing. Pictures or a description of steps is helpful; I can't find a solution. MOZILLA didn't restrict placing this website box on the top menu bar, did they?

Thanks. Picture of browser is attached.

You can open the customize page and drag the search bar control the the Menu bar.

I appreciate your desire to be helpful. That comment above is unhelpful response to a question you looked at quickly or disregarded. The customize does not allow the address bar to be dragged to the menu toolbar. It does allow the separate search bar if you have that active.

I 'think' this may have to do with Firefox's change that tabs be above the bookmark toolbar, rather then below it. And I see there is a way to create a chrome file (defining .css sheets) and a modification to about config toolkit legacy.

GREAT Job Mozilla, making the browser more clunky stuffing things on the bookmarks toolbar. Great adhering to human factors....not!!!

You can't (and haven't been able to do for a long time) move the location bar off the Navigation Toolbar as this address bar is fixed to the navigation toolbar. You can move other items to the navigation toolbar, but not the menu items that aren't customizable as well and are fixed to the Menu bar. You appear to have moved the "Bookmarks Toolbar Items" control to the Navigation Toolbar toolbar and have an empty Bookmarks Toolbar with only the import button left which you should be able to remove via the right-click context menu (remove from toolbar) and hide the bookmarks toolbar (toggle via Ctrl+Shift+B). Only the standalone search bar is fully customizable and can be positioned on any of the toolbars (menu bar, tab bar, bookmarks toolbar, navigation toolbar). So what you are asking (moving the address bar to the menu bar) is impossible.
