Junk filters: Body and Customized search not working

Hello, I've been trying to filter some junk emails but no luck. The Subject, From, To, Etc. filters work as expected. However, a search on Body and/or Customized fields doesn't work. For example:

1) Body -> Contains -> sometext: This doesn't work at all, even for a word. I can find the email using the quick filter so I know the words are correct but the filter is not picking the emails up. I tried everything, phrases, words, numbers. Nothing works. I checked the source code of the emails and I can see the text right there so it is not a problem of formatting, encryption, Etc.

2) Customized -> X-Sender-IP -> is / Contains -> xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx: This doesn't work. I checked the source code of the emails and I can see the text right there so it is not a problem of formatting, encryption, Etc.

I also tried with Before and After junk email classification but that didn't make any difference.

The issue is that Sender, Subject are not good enough as they change every time and domains you cannot always block because some of them are actually valid.

I use filters with the Match Any Of The Following option.

Please advise.

Thanks.

Regards

The attempt to fight spam with static filters is futile. You can try the built-in Junk Mail Controls instead. https://support.mozilla.org/kb/thunderbird-and-junk-spam-messages

Thanks for the reply but that is not the solution either. Filtering from personal addresses leaves a world of potential valid addresses out. Using third party extensions requires giving permissions I don't want to give.

Marking junk emails as junk usually doesn't work as sender address, subject, Etc. change and many times even if they don-t change it still doesn't work. I have marked many emails as junk and they keep coming as not junk.

Last but not least, I want junk emails I know for sure are junk to be delete immediately (Not just filter them) but keep those I'm not sure about to review before deleting them.

Static filters worked for me so far. I'm not asking for a new feature or function. I'm merely asking for the standard functionality to be fixed.

Hello,

Can we can get the "body" and "custom headers" functionality to work? Again, I'm not asking for new features. Just for those that are available to work and this should help a lot of people, not only me.

I tested the "Trust junk mail headers by". Unfortunately, it only takes you so far. I keep marking stuff as junk/not junk but in many cases it doesn't do anything. I still receive the same junk emails from the same senders in my inbox.

In order for it to work properly, it should probably be a combination of "SpamAssassin" + "personal" junk classification. If I say it is junk, then it is junk. I don't care what SpamAssassin believe it to be.

Thanks Regards
