why does firefox freeze when the downloads window pops up

Try to delete downloads.sqlite (plus downloads.rdf, if it exists) in the Profile Folder

even if i open the download window manually it freezes. so if the download window opens at all firefox freezes

1) Close Firefox 2) Delete downloads.sqlite from the Profile folder 3) Start Firefox

FF will create a NEW sqlite file that WORKS. Downloads now do not crash the program!

Brilliant! Worked for me. Have had this problem for a year now. Had to make sure firefox.exe was ended in task manager first though as it wouldn't do it first time round. Thanks cor-el!
