Need a fix for Firefox Bookmarks is being hijacked by bbc.co.uk when sites are bookmarked
The Firefox Bookmarking system has been hijacked when Bookmarks are created.
After a site is bookmarked, it will enter into the site field: bbc.co.uk/ & random string of the bbc.co.uk sites. Another hijacked area the sites go to are: Google Ads.
I have already tried the following: 1. Deleting all the BBC.co.uk bookmarks 2. Going to: 1.) the about:config 2.) filter on "keyword", 3.) ensured keyword.enable is TRUE, and 4.) checked the keyword.URL for any mistakes. 3. Went to Safemode: Disabled everything, restarted.
After doing all of this, simply going back to do a search history of the book marks & typing up: BBC, brings up all random BBC.co.uk sites.
After researching that many people have this problem, it is now very HIGHLY likely that EVERYONE has this same problem and they simply don't know it, because not many people most likely are reviewing their Bookmarks - or probably have a 3rd party service.

I have the same issue, and it only is affecting the last few bookmark entries. The link provided seems to have nothing to do with this issue. I can bookmark, they aren't gone, and it will hold for the night, upon reboot, BBC takes over the bottom few again. Very frustrating.
You can still give it a try if that is your opinion to see if if works anyway.
