Is there a reason all the add-ons aren't working after 3.6.15 update?

Updated to 3.6.15 and my extensions/add-ons aren't working or showing up apart from the add-ons list. Tried downgrading (3.16.14 & 3.5.7) and they still didn't show up. Is there a stable version to get Adblock Plus to work, at least? Or is this some other sort of problem?

Chosen solution

There may be a problem with one of the files that stores details of installed extensions. Try deleting these files as shown in the "Corrupt extension files" section of this link - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Unable+to+install+add-ons

Though that article is not specifically about your problem, the method shown in the corrupt extension files section may help. When you restart Firefox after deleting those files, the list of installed extensions is rebuilt and this will hopefully fix your problem.

the problem I have is that Norton has removed "plugin-container.exe" claiming that it containes the virus "WS.reputation.1". Since then, the browser freezes up every time. I could restore it but is it safe??
