When backing up (saving) bookmarks into a file, does it also include RSS Feeds links?

You have an excellent article about backing up (saving) bookmarks into a file. This is great when rebuilding a system from scratch. Does this backup process also include RSS Feed links? If so, could the article about bookmarks also add the fact that RSS Feed links are also included? If not, how about adding this feature to the bookmark backup feature or create a new feature that handles only RSS Feed links.

Chosen solution

Only the feed URL is saved as part of the bookmarks, like you see it in the bookmarks list. The items that you see in a feed list are retrieved from the server as an XML file. Items in a feed list will only be saved if you copy them from the feed list to regular bookmarks.

Hello Cor-el, Your response does answer the question. It seems that one needs to Cut or Copy and Paste the RSS Feed links into a new Bookmark folder. Then, when one saves the Bookmark list, the RSS Feed links are now also included. [I am rebuilding my system from scratch and I didn't relish the spectre of having to write down or reconstruct the RSS Feed links.] Could FireFox add this item to their existing excellent article on saving/backing up the Bookmark list? Thank you very much for your help.

You're welcome.

You normally do not want or need to keep feed items because there is no guarantee that such items last for a longer period. Most feed lists like the BBC latest headlines are constantly updated to add new news items that replace older items to prevent the list from growing too large.

Hello Cor-el, The saving of the RSS Feed links is just a temporary situation, while I am rebuilding my system. It would be a task done as part of a final backup; then the system is rebuilt--Windows-7, FireFox, applications, and then e-mail. The FireFox Bookmark file just saved is then rolled back to the rebuilt system and the entries the just-created Bookmark RSS Feeds folder are moved back to my RSS Feeds folder. The temporary bookmark RSS Feeds folder is deleted.
