When I open a tab, it doesn't automatically load the new page. What's wrong?

Exactly what the question states. When I open a new tab by right clicking a link and saying "open in a new tab", it doesn't load. It pops up a new tab, and the web address is in the address bar, but it doesn't load the page. I have to manually tell it to load the page. So... What gives?

This may be due to a problem with an add-on. For details of how to troubleshoot that see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes
