All my check boxes and selection circles have disappeared. Uninstalled FF and reinstalled deleting all plug-ins, settings, and etc. IE works fine. What's messing with my boxes?

With recent update, all my check boxes and selection circles have disappeared. I tried to uninstall FF, reinstall, but nothing fixed it. When I run safe-mode, it's fine, but then no youtube or other internet fun stuff. Tried to update plug-ins but still all jacked up. any ideas? also, my side scroll bar screws up too.

Do you mean Firefox safe mode or Windows Safe mode?

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

  • Use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions.
  • Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

If you mean Windows Safe-mode then check your security software.

Tried disabling all extensions (Two, 1: Java Quick Starter 1.0 2: Microsoft .NET Framework Assistant 0.0.0) Disabled all plugins (lots, too many to list without wanting to punch myself) Did that, and then file>Exit, restarted, went to Yahoo! mail and check boxes still gone, but when I go into FireFox Safe mode, they are there. downloaded a new appearance pack (Was running default one), also changed back to Yahoo! Mail Classic. Still gone.

Can you attach a screenshot?

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed the maximum file size (1 MB).

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their colors and that you haven't enabled High Contrast in the Windows Accessibility settings.

I can.

Excuse me for the dutch, but this is my youtube uploader. As you can see, the button looks weird, the tickboxes are gone (not on screen), the circular select boxes are gone, and the downwards arrow in the scroll list is gone too (not that I miss that one).

Anyway, I switched from FF4 to FF5 today, still the same.

I see what you mean.

Does that happen with all check boxes and drop down lists (options)?

Did you check the color settings that I posted above?

Are you using a special Windows theme or one of the standard Windows themes?

On one particular way, starting in Firefox safe mode disabling some things got the total layout different, with the boxes working again. Thanks =]
