I posted this 3 months ago in your Mobile forum: Hoping for a feedback from someone at Firefox. So far nothing. Can someone respond? Is Firefox working on the OS BADA for the Samsung Wave II GT- S8530? Any guess if there is something in the works for completion? Thanks

I recently purchased a Samsung Wave II GT-S8530 mobile phone while I was in Thailand. It is a great phone and I would like to use Firefox on it. I was just asking if there was anybody working on this new OS called BADA? If so, I would really like to find out if it will be available soon? Thanks for your help and you guys have a wonderful product. I put it on everyone of my friends PC as it is soooo much better than explorer.

I really would appreciate if someone from the Tech/engineering/or anyone in the know, side of Firefox that would respond to me on this issue. BADA OS is a growing platform serving more and more mobile styles. This OS could really use a Firefox browser.

Thank you for your time! Wader

Sorry, we don't have support for BADA. There are no plans to support it at this time.

Thanks Kbrosnan for replying back in such a timely matter. I appreciate it very much. Can you give me an answer as to why Firefox has made the decision not to support the BADA operating system? Samsung is installing this OS in more that one model of their smartphones. It would seem Firefox would like to support as many OS's as they possibility can; especially ones that are multifunctional and as powerful as the BADA OS.

Thanks again for your reply back and I would really like to know the answer to my latest question.

Best regards, Wader

Small market share, especially compared to iOS, Blackberry, etc. BADA phones tend to be low to mid-range smart phones, right now we only support the mid to high subsection of Android phones. Unclear if C/C++ programs can be compiled for the OS. Unclear distribution channels. But by and far it is constrained by the limited engineering resources we have. Supporting more operating systems would be great but given the constraints we have and the growth of Android that is where our engineering time is being spent.
