Error message pops up on various pages, can't determine a pattern, and the message must be dismissed prior to proceeding. Happens frequently and about 1/3 of web pages upon opening.

By any chance do you have the Firefox Add-on called 'sortplaces'? Reinstalling it has resolved this exact same problem for other users:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/sortplaces/reviews/
