When I know I've only bookmarked a page once, when I remove the bookmark it says "remove 2 bookmarks".

Are you removing a Bookmark from the "Recently Bookmarked" folder?

  • That folder is a query of your real bookmarks and shows only the 10 most recent Bookmarks that you have added. The Bookmarks there are automatic copies of your real Bookmarks and nothing should be removed from that folder.
  • Removing a Bookmark from the "Recently Bookmarked" folder, will remove that query entry and will also remove the "real" underlying Bookmark, hence removing 2 Bookmarks.

That means that there are copies of that bookmark.

You can do a search for them if you do not know where they are.
