Deploying and managing Firefox in Windows Active Directory environment?

more options

Hi,

We are using Active Directory (Windows 2008 R2) domain in our school. As system administrator I would like to deploy and manage Firefox with GPO across the whole domain which means more than 500 computers. I could not find up to date solution for it. Is there any way to achieve this task or simply we should give up?

Kind regards

Mozilla doesn't specifically support GPO, but a third party has created a build you could review/test.

Deployment:Deploying Firefox - MozillaWiki

Firefox MSI - FrontMotion

I haven't tried it myself.

Thanks I'll give it a try. BTW I don't understand why Mozilla ignoring such a big market as many system adminitrators waiting for something official and straightforward do deploy FF in their environments to thousands computers.

Mozilla formed an Enterprise Working group to address deployment and update cycle concerns. That probably would be the best venue for input on these issues. (It's hard to make yourself heard on a support forum...)
