I used this link to try and save My settings but it wasn't as shown, but I did manage to save a folder with my FF information after wiping my hard drive & reinstalling Windows 7. http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-firefox-stores-user-data

Now I have the saved folder on my desktop, but I can't figure out what to do with it to restore my FF settings.

Unfortunately, I found out about FF Sync too late. Facepalm.

It is much safer to backup your profile data locally instead of relying on Sync.
Sync isn't meant to be used that way and you can easily lose your data by replacing saved data with the current data.

It is best to only restore the data (bookmarks, cookies, names/passwords etc.) that you really need if you didn't save the profile name (xxxxxxxx.default) or restore to a different location (e.g. Windows account). Otherwise restoring profiles.ini and the profile folder should make Firefox find that profile.
