Is this using the Foxit plugin, or was it when the Adobe Acrobat plugin was handling PDFs?

It seems to be when opening a PDF from the WEISS site as I tried another site and it didn't crash.

Perhaps Foxit can help? Otherwise, you might be able to download the file and open it in the stand-alone reader (outside of Firefox).

It always opens in the stand alone format even tho I have it set not to.

more options

Note that your plugins list shows both the Foxit plugin and the Adobe Reader plugin as enabled.

  1. Adobe PDF Plug-In For Firefox and Netscape 11.0.0
  2. Foxit Reader Plug-In For Firefox and Netscape

You may want to disable one of them in Tools > Add-ons > Plugins to avoid confusion about which is used.

more options

There is no confusion as foxit is set as default.

This happens to me on every computer I use, and my friends use. Crashes the computer almost every time.

Hi Rosewriter2, which viewer are you using for PDFs, or is the problem in downloading them? To change how you view PDFs inside (or outside) Firefox, please see these articles:

If you are not able to resolve your issue using that information, please provide more details on your system (e.g., Windows? Mac?) and which option you're using for viewing PDFs.

Thank you jscher2000. I used the suggestion in the first article and that's exactly what I need! I switched the default viewer to Adobe. Thank you very much for that information.

To answer your question, it was the Firefox PDF viewer in Windows (XP at work and Windows 7 at home). I know that my other colleagues in the office have the same problem on their computers (on XP and 7), so I did just want to bring it up to the Mozilla community.
