Over the last several updates of Firefox, I've had difficulties with Gmail and *only* Gmail. Currently on v. 16.0.2. Will be typing an email and suddenly, everything is in caps. The cap lock key is NOT on. I save the message as a draft and then try to log out of gmail to start over but, new windows of Firefox open with my gmail account showing. I have to put my cursor down on the task bar (using Windows XP home edition), right click and force the popping up windows to close until finally it is all closed. Then, I restart Firefox and Gmail may work fine -- or it may do that floopey thing all over again. What's wrong?? How can I fix???

hello hisollady, can you try to replicate this behaviour when you launch firefox in safe mode once? if not, maybe an addon is interfering here...

Hello madperson

Coincidentally, I (yesterday afternoon) updated to v.17.0.1.

I'm not sure what you mean when you say launch firefox in safe mode -- do you mean start my laptop in safe mode -- or is there distinctively a method of launching firefox in a safe mode? Sorry for my ignorance...

This morning is the first that I've used firefox since updating yesterday and i have not, as yet, checked gmail. So I don't know, yet, whether that problem occurs with the update or not....will let y'all know later.

thanks very much!

hello, with safemode i meant the built-in firefox safemode, not the one in your operating system. it is explained in more detail in the first article i've linked to in my previous reply.
