On the search bar below the firefox icon on the firefox home page i enter a search item, then click "enter" or click on the "search" button, but nothing happens. I'm not redirected anywhere or given any options. I can do a search from enternet explorer, no problem and used to be able to do the same from firefox ( which I prefer). Thanks.

Hi!

I'm not sure if I understand correctly, but from what I read, your Firefox Home Page is not performing searches.

My first question: have you tried to click on the "Search" button? Does it do anything?

If not, I will recommended you to try Safe Mode to confirm that there are not add-ons creating a conflict with your set up. You can learn about Safe Mode in the following article: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode

Best, Ibai

Try to reset some preferences to the default with the SearchReset extension:

Note that the SearchReset extension only runs once and then uninstalls automatically, so it won't show on the "Firefox > Add-ons" page (about:addons).

Check the browser.search.defaultenginename pref on the about:config page and make sure that it is set to the default value Google.
