ever since the recent update every time i close firefox be it through the menu or pressing X sessions can't be restored(the option is greyed out). Before the update this was not an issue at all. no new add-ons, settings are still the same as they were before the update.

In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes":

  • do not clear Browsing History

Note that clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in (permanent) Private Browsing mode.

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"
  • Deselect: [ ] "Always use private browsing mode"

@cor-el i do always have it set to "remember history" and never used private browsing (ain't nobody got time for that j/k) only thing that makes sense right now is the update.
