I recently lost a pretty big browsing session with many tabs. I turned on my computer and an adobe update appeared instantly. I accidentally clicked ok and it opened up a new window...and i was no able to restore my previous session. I rebooted and tried again, and the adobe page how now become my restoreable session! :( Is there any chance there is an archived file i can recall to get back my browsing session from 1 or 2 back? ie. sessionrestore.bak(-1) or (-2)

Chosen solution

There is only a sessionstore.bak file.

The sessionstore.bak file is created at every start of Firefox as a copy of the sessionstore.js file saved in the previous session to make it possible to restore the previous session via the History menu at any time during the current session.

Did you check History > Recently Closed Tabs/Windows ?

Firefox only keeps one copy of the sessionstore.js file that stores session data, so if that session isn't appearing then it is likely that you've lost that session data.

did you check the History to see if you can restore some or al of the tabs?

You can look at the Session Manager extension for more reliable session support (i.e. more sessions).

Thank you for your response. I can successfully use the 'history>recently closed tabs' option, but it only pulls up the one adobe update tab. I can not find my 50-60 other tabs.. :( I went through the history and couldnt find most of them in there either because some had been open for while.

So there is only one restore file retained? Not any sort of generational setup , or at least a second backup file?
