Is there a way to preview an addon before you add it; I choose an addon and it changes automatically but then I decide I don't like it

also , how do you get rid of an add on if you don't like it.. the only way I have been able to is to restore to the original and that is so difficult

Chosen solution

You could consider to try the extension out with a new profile or use the portable Firefox version for such a case when you aren't sure that you want to keep the extension.

Usually it is enough to uninstall the extension.
Some extensions can make changes to pref settings that are part of Firefox and in such a case you may need to reset those.
Prefs added by the extension for its own use (usually extensions.<name>.*) can be removed via a reset on the about:config page.
