I have deleted all my bookmarks accidentally when uninstalling Firefox. With a recovery app I have managed to get one bookmark json file back. I just can not seem to get it to restore. The file seems okay in Notepad, i have tried all the usual stuff like deleting the places file and no joy. It shows up with 126 sites but just no joy. Would be very grateful for some help as there are some important data? starting to think it is corrupt.

Thanks Moses, I have done that. I keep getting the unable to process message. I have even moved the back up file into the profiles folder so it appears on the restore list. I have tried all the usual stuff, deleting the places file, making sure anti spyware is removed and that firefox is up to date. No joy at all!

Make sure that the file has the correct .json file extension.

You can try to validate the file.
