When replying to a email the new email is behind the old email or when openning a pdf attached it opens behind the email also. I must minimize the email to access the pdf or the reply. This never happened before? Thanks Gary

Please perform this test to see if this is caused by an addon extension conflict.

Restart Thunderbird in Safe mode. Help > Restart with Addons disabled

Now test: click on Write - did Write window open in the front in focus. Select an email and click on 'Reply' - did Write a Reply window open in front in focus? select to open pdf attachment - did it open in focus?

If yes then it is likely that an addon is causing a conflict. You would need to test by gradually enabling addons/extensions until you find the one which is causing the problem.

Please report back on results.

In both thunderbird Safe mode and normal mode, does:

Ctrl+N open a new Write window in focus ?
Ctrl+R open a new Reply window in focus ?
