What font is Firefox using if you check that via the right-click context menu in the Inspector (Inspect Element)?
You can check the font used for selected text in the Font tab in the right pane of the Inspector.

You can see that Firefox is using the Arial Bold font, so that would explain that you see a bold font. Some fonts might be damaged, so you can try a system file check with SFC.exe to see if anything comes up or uninstall the Arial font(s) to see if that helps.
The System File Checker needs to be run from an Elevated Command Prompt.
Open a cmd.exe window as Administrator: Start, click Programs, click Accessories Right-click Command Prompt, and choose "Run as administrator" Click past the UAC Screen
After the cmd.exe prompt, type: sfc.exe /scannow and press Enter
